Cheesesteak-Stuffed Mushrooms

I cannot ignore the fact that this is a very, very important time of year for football fans.

It’s nearly Super Bowl Sunday.  This is not only the high holy day of football (incidentally, the only sport I really care anything about), but the high holy day of football SNACKS.  People are going to be snacking fiercely on Sunday night, and truthfully, I’d like to be among them.  I don’t want any wimpy Super Bowl food, either — I want tailgate food, just like everyone else.  I want the salty, the crunchy, the cheesy, the meaty.  I want the bar food, stadium food, wash-it-down-with-a-beer kind of food.  I just want mine, please and thank you, with less junk in it.  Because it’s no fun eating a bunch of naughty stuff if you’re going to wake up the next day in a state of self-loathing and tailgate shame.

These little minis are perfect for a special treat in a lunchbox, too!

Don’t get me wrong — nothing here is strictly HEALTH food.  But these Super Bowl-worthy recipes are all things that are made without the processed cheez product, the meatlike substances, and the hydrogenated hell that usually accompanies Super Bowl snacking.  As a bonus, none of these are super-complicated to make; who wants to slave over a hot stove when there’s football to watch?
